À propos de Glassjaw
Glassjaw est un groupe de post-hardcore américain, originaire de Long Island, dans l'État de New York. Il est fondé en 1993 autour du chanteur Daryl Palumbo et de son comparse le guitariste Justin Beck.
Après un mini-album, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang en 1997, deux albums, Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Silence (2000) et Worship and Tribute (2002) - produits par Ross Robinson les propulsent au sommet du post-hardcore et hardcore mélodique. Plus d'albums depuis 2002 (un 3 toujours repoussé mais qui devrait sortir en 2016) alors que Daryl Palumbo s'est plus fortement engagé aux côtés de Dan the Automator dans un projet parallèle, Head Automatica, plus électro-pop, bien loin du hardcore. Alors que Beck lui s'investit dans Merchdirect.com. À noter que Vincent Gallo apparaît dans le clip Cosmopolitan Bloodloss (2002).
D'autre part, glassjaw signifie littéralement « mâchoire de verre ». Elle désigne parfois en argot américain les « souffre douleur public », ceux qui se font souvent frapper, « casser la figure ».
